Scan Safety

Understand QR preview, warning, blocked, and report-unsafe screens.

Some SmartQR links open through a short preview or safety screen before continuing to the destination. This helps scanners verify where they are going and gives them a way to report a destination that looks unsafe.

Why a preview appears

  • The QR owner enabled a branded preview screen.
  • The destination was recently changed or needs extra verification.
  • The QR is paused, expired, blocked, or over a plan limit.
  • A scanner reported the destination and SmartQR is reviewing it.

What to check before continuing

  • Review the destination domain shown on the page.
  • Be cautious with pages asking for passwords, payment details, wallet phrases, or account verification.
  • If the destination looks unexpected, close the page or use Report unsafe.

Reporting a QR

Reports are reviewed by SmartQR and may cause additional warnings or a temporary block. A single report does not automatically prove abuse, but repeated or high-risk reports are escalated.

Workspace owners who believe a QR was incorrectly warned, quarantined, or blocked should contact Support with the QR code ID. Support can review report history, safety reasons, and moderation actions.
